Mally Levi – Open Season NYC Trip

Mally Levi – Open Season : #VlogLife ep01 by Ebunny Shanay

I linked up with Mally Levi, thee most LIT person I know, and a group of us traveled to New York on a mission to capture the real scenes behind Mally’s latest venture calling it Open Season. He also performed one hell of a show at The Gateway!

The travel to New York was an interesting one. I mean, why wouldn’t it be? I was traveling with rapper entertainer Mally Levi and his crew. We boarded the China Bus downtown Philly and carefully selected our seats for the smell of public bathrooms wreaked! Although I had heard stories about China Busses, I couldn’t believe it was all true. I laughed and thought, “Oh well…it’s gonna serve it’s purpose and get us there! Plus we about to turn up!”

While being optimistic, it cheered my mood and then I chose my seat and got comfortable. In the attempt to all sit together, a few stranglers were in the midst of our turn up group towards the back. Mally being Mally he then makes friends with everyone around inviting them to his show that night. “This is a really cool group of people…..” I said to myself, “…..this is gonna be a good time”.

The show at The Gateway was amazing. There were so many performers and it was cool to see people from different walks of life. Mally Levi was 5th up and right out the gate he turned the whole place up with his track “Thottianna”. I don’t think people were ready nor had any idea he was this hot….they warmed up to him quick!

While “Thottianna” was an epic start, we caught our breath and heard the transition into “Surf”, which was produced by his homie Saivio. Everyone immediately got hype! By the time the next two tracks “Fresh As A Boat” featuring Eno and the latest, most dopest, track EVER “Hondas & Foreigns” came on, we were so outta breath and full of excitement that we hurried outside afterwards for some fresh air! It was too poppin….

Mally Levi’s good friend Varsity Rees also performed a great set while Seb, his right hand, supported! Those people at The Gateway were in for a real awakening of how Philly artist work…and they were loving it!

Although there were some malfunctions getting home (that damn China Bus lol), we all made it back to Philly round 3AM safely. When I got home, I couldn’t believe the day/night I had but was glad I got to experience it with such great vibes and memories…..and for the fact that I now had a story to tell ya’ll!:)
